Why should you consider tutoring support?
During our holiday and summer breaks, I often think about many of my students, who may be on the brink of an emerging skill; or those who may experience regression during extended breaks. Without continued support during breaks, students can experience setbacks that lead to frustration and difficulty with progressing through the often fast-pace nature of the general education curriculum. I want to help alleviate some of the back-to-school worries for both you and your child through individualized tutoring in the area or areas that they most need support.
The primary purpose of my tutoring support is to provide maintenance to concepts your child is already familiar with. For students who are receiving tiered support through the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS Plan) or through specially designed instruction as part of their Individualized Education Program (IEP), I would focus on their current area(s) of need.
A secondary purpose of my tutoring support would be to introduce new concepts once your child has mastered previously necessary concepts in order to prepare them for their next steps (as part of their tier plans or IEPs).
